Morning Fresh Dairy is looking for a motivated, hard-working, and reliable person to join our warehouse team. This position is a critical link in our wholesale delivery process and involves working in our cold storage warehouse, loading milk onto our delivery trucks. We are looking for a reliable, self-starter who can work well without direct supervision.
Full-time: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Sunday -Thursday (Fri – Sat off).
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
This is a physically demanding job. In addition to standing and walking for the duration of the shift this position requires regular lifting (40 lbs), stacking, pushing, pulling, and squatting. Loaders maintain cleanliness of trucks which includes weekly washing.
Loaders utilize an iPad to access load sheets, adjust load quantities as needed, and certify that each truck is accurately and properly loaded.
Math skills, Critical thinking, Communication and Common Sense required.
Driving and shuttling of Refrigerated Box Trucks also required.
Temperatures in the cooler are in the mid 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Employees work with gloves on. Pallet jack experience helpful. Must be willing to complete safety training when assigned.
Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from the Dairy.
Wholesale Truck Loader and Warehouse Responsibilities:
o Check in daily with the Wholesale Coordinator or Operations Manager for additions, changes, special orders, etc.
o Coordinate with Warehouse/Dock Manager to ensure proper position for pulling and rotating products in the cooler and lock-up areas.
o Receive and respond to text messages and group chats as appropriate.
Pre-load tasks:
o Off load trucks of un-used products and crates.
o Off load trucks of products to store in Warehouse
o Sort bottles according to Half gallons, Quarts, etc.
o Remove and throw away any crates with broken/cracked bottoms – Help prevent safety issues.
o Clean trucks as needed to prepare for loading process
o Prepare pallets (build and wrap) with orders for delivery or pick-up
Load Wholesale trucks according to best practices, priorities and special instructions:
o Utilize I-pad to access accounts, view orders, and delivery times
o Learn Driver preferences for considerate loading
o Double check and verify Trucks are loaded accurately
o Drive Trucks to overnight parking
o Plug-in Trucks to maintain proper refrigeration and overnight storage temperatures
Warehouse tasks:
o Track inventory of milk alternatives when needed
o Utilize date gun to apply date stickers for production and expiration dates as needed
o Maintain an organized and clean work environment with unobstructed isles.
o Utilize brooms, dust pans, squeegees, shovels, buckets, and trash cans, and maintain their location for easy access.
o Move trash to designated receptacles
o Spread ice melt as and shovel snow as needed during winter conditions
o Properly store and plug in electric pallet jacks
o Shuttle pallets to and from warehouses as needed for inventory
Additional:
o Notify Driver and Coordinator of any mechanical or unusual issues you notice and experience with Trucks
o Review map and layout of buildings to identify Exits, Fire Extinguishers, eye-wash stations, telephone land line, etc
o Maintain consistent placement of First Aid/Safety Box
o Notify Coordinator of any safety issues, observations, or violations you notice or experience.
o Request items needed and suggest changes needed to improve efficiencies and the duties performed on this job.
