Driver of the Month

Congratulations to Brent, our Driver of the Month for March!

Brent has been a delivery driver for over a year and runs routes in the Fort Collins, Severance, and Windsor areas. Out on delivery, Brent likes to listen to Rock & Roll and Hip Hop. His favorite milk flavor is Chocolate, but if he could make any new flavor, it would be Rocky Road!

Thank you to Brent for the amazing work he’s doing!

Farm Happenings

As the snow begins to melt and we get a little sun, we’ll start preparing our fields for summer soon. In the meantime, you might have been wondering what our cows were eating all Winter?! Here at Morning Fresh Dairy, we feed our cows a balanced diet of corn silage, hay, soybeans, vitamins, minerals, and sometimes even sweet molasses as a cold-weather treat. One cow can eat upwards of 120 pounds of feed per day! That means we need to have a lot of food in our pantry to keep our girls happy!

Pictured is our silage pit, where we store all the corn feed that we ferment to become silage. This type of feed is easier for the cows to digest and it allows them to get more nutrients out of their meal.

It might not seem fancy, but there’s a lot of calculating that goes into determining how big the pit needs to be to get us through until the winter to the next harvest. To make sure we have plenty of food to go around, we check the size of our silage pit using a drone that uses light detection to determine how big the silage pit is. Now that high tech!

Bring Back Your Bottles!

It’s time for spring cleaning! Do you have any of our milk bottles that have been sitting around your house all winter? We’d love to take them off your hands! Whenever you make a purchase with us, we ask that you return the bottles to us, either at the store or on Home Delivery. Once we get the bottles back, our team sanitizes and inspects each and every bottle to be used again an unlimited number of times! However, we can’t do this without your help. A little rinse and return can go a long way in supporting our mission to protect and conserve our planet (and keep your home tidy!)

We’d Love to Hear From You!

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we would love to hear from you! From fun recipes you make with our products to pictures of cute calves you meet on a Dairy Tour, we’d love to see what you’re up to! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from MOO!
